Can we measure activity and progress of a project based on its activity?

Github Activity

This series will look at the activity across Crypto related projects on Github. Follow this series to get to know the most active projects a bit better.

The reference point I will be using for choosing projects to look at will be the website https://www.cryptomiso.com/ which has live links to the different projects in aggregate.
This website is useful as a reference but different projects will have much larger scope and different areas of focus.

Steemit

Last week I examined the level of activity on the Steemit Github profile. I felt this gave a good overview of the general level of activity and focus of the teams working on various aspects of certain projects.

Komodo

Komodo is number one on the list of active repositories. I know little about this project but based on the level of Github activity it looks like a project worth learning more about.

To learn a little more about it this post by @heiditravels gives a lot of background and explains some of the unique aspects of this platform.

I have not been able to give an answer about the Komodo platform, because I just read your post. now I will learn it

I think GitHub activity can be used to see how active the devs have been, but I doubt it can be used to see how much progress has been made. If all activity went into adding a few spaces/dots and that is registered as activity, there is room to 'game' this system.

You'd have to dive into the commits to see what was added in order to determine if it has actual progress, or go with what the dev team puts out in writing detailing what they have completed ;-)
