Dash: Investment not speculation

The current price surge in Dash, and the fact that it now has the third highest market cap of any cryptocurrency, have led to a flurry of interest and a lot of speculation. And that's ok, speculators will speculate.

But the real story about Dash is that it isn't just a speculation. It has a long term plan, a sensible governance structure, and it is really a business (albeit a DAO - A more successful one than another DAO I could mention), which aims to become a payment system, a medium of exchange.

I don't have the ability to see the future. But my guess is that when the next stage of Dash's development - called Evolution - kicks in later this year, the prices surges we have seen recently will be as nothing.

I agree. Bitcoin is now encountering something they knew would happen someday. Today is someday. Dash is the reaction. (plus all the great ideas they have that you mentioned.)

I have made enough on Dash for a new fully tricked out Camaro in the last 3 months. I won't be liquidating my Dash, but if I did my profits would be such.

Bitcoin was a trailblazer, something new. It is inevitable that Satoshi Nakamoto didn't think of everything. The invention of the blockchain was a major breakthrough. But the real failure (and where Dash wins) is governance, and the ability to solve problems.

They knew from the beginning that bitcoin would never support even one percent of the global population adopting it. They knew that adoption would theoretically be high enough by the time block rewards disappeared for fees to pay miners to continue mining it". Bitcoin has reached near capacity now - fees are going up exponentially to the point that the currency is almost not useful. He did think of it - he thought of everything - the "when" things would happen were the variables.

Letting go of Dash before it hits $100 in a few weeks would be a mistake

A lot of people are starting to realize all the features that Dash has to offer that bitcoin can't. It brings true anonymity which bitcoin doesn't. It also has the instant send feature will be very key into promoting it to the mainstream consumers and like you mentioned above, it has the governance model along with a payment system in place. Exciting times for Dash and the rest of the crypto's.

Dont get me wrong. I really like DASH. But lets be careful when we say things about "true anonymity". Coin-mixing != true anonymity.

You are right. Dash could still go wrong somehow, but some people are starting to see that it is what Bitcoin should be. It seems to have solved all the major problems of bitcoin, and also has a governance system to address those that crop up in the future.

3rd largest market cap, though I expect it to take ETH's place by next year.

And don't we all love Amanda B. Johnson? But I think Evolution will be the real game changer for Dash, and take it to a different level

Yes! Dash under $100 is still cheap

DASH does not have utility and it is a joke to think anybody is investing because it does. This is pure speculation/FOMO. No body is buying DASH right now because they think it is going to change the world or financial systems. Anybody who says that is lying through their teeth.
