I am posting this as my own opinion...

There is a company offering you a low cost service to list your home on the Multiple Listing Service, they will provide you with some guidance to get the job done...but what they don't tell you is the success rate for their closings is abysmal, the amount of price reductions necessary to close are atrocious, the amount of time wasted, and above all, the amount of frustrated clients.

I am talking about a company called Homie. Please beware, they are offering flat rate listings, low commission rates for buyers agents, and poor service. The Comparable Market Analysis that are completed are done so quickly and carelessly that they are often incorrect. This leaves sellers to wonder why their property isn't selling, so they are forced to do a price reduction. Sellers are forced to handle many of the transaction requirements by themselves. They are forced to negotiate their own contracts, with no real leverage. Gaining only advice from their so called agents...

Why in the world wouldn't you want a qualified, trained, and well rounded individual representing you every step of the way?

Why wouldn't you want someone to have a real and true fiduciary responsibility for your concerns, interests, and well being?

Why wouldn't you want someone protecting your earnest money that you might have to pay, your equity, and usually the biggest investment that you own?

They do offer some really deeply discounted services....home owners usually wonder if they could have gotten a better price with someone actually working for them, not just listing the property and advising them.

I am just providing a warning out there, while this market is very hot and almost any person can throw up a post on KSL or on the MLS for a flat fee to get traffic towards the home, there are far too many what ifs to not hire a Realtor.

Agents looking to work the business should be worth far more than $15 dollars an hour... Please don't sell yourself short, get a mentor. The reason that Real Estate is exciting and exhilarating is because, we get to help people find their dream home or sell their biggest asset. The satisfaction comes at the end, knowing you did a fantastic job, receiving praise, creating those lasting relationships with your clients. Commission based businesses create a sense of hustle, a sense of pride, and a sense of ownership. Tacking on an hourly wage really makes it feel like you don't have to work that hard to make your clients happy, you also don't work with the same ones all the time...

There is a place for this company and it fits a model that fits many types and personalities of people. I just wanted a fair warning out there so you can go in with your eyes wide open.
