Diary Game Season 3: May 31, 2021; Visited our Farmville
Good day my fellow steemians,
How are you all doing? I pray well-being abounds in all of you.
This is my entry for the Diary Game Season 3. Which took place just this Monday, May 31. The last day of May.
Since we don't have any work to do. Hubby and I went and visited our farmland. It is located in another barangay just next to us. From our house you have to drive around 30 minutes and hike for about 20 minutes before reaching our piece of property. This is our second property. We acquired this last 2017. We were not really planning on buying this piece of land because back then, 2016 we have purchased our first property which has a house but still on it's skeletal form. We were doing some renovations on the house because we wanted it to be in harmony with Feng sui. This was not really a one time project. We were doing it like on weekends just so we have some place to go to, something to do. Doing it slowly because we don't really have that big amount of money to finish the house right away. Until now it is still a work in progress. We are not in a hurry to finish it because no one lives there anyway.
So moving on to the story, Our neighbor offered us some lumber to be used for the roofing because it is his means of livelihood as a lumberjack. He asked us if we were interested on buying another piece of land. The size is about 3,000 square meters. He said he knew the owner. Since we haven't explored the area, I told hubby why not take a look so in a way we can explore and go to other parts of the community. So, we did look at the property, at first I could not visualize the land because it was filled with much tall grasses and trees everywhere. Still on its jungle state. We spoke with the owner, an old man in his early seventies, Tatay Arnulfo. That was our first meeting with him and it was on a Sunday. Then the following week, Wednesday, my hubby got a call from our lumberjack friend and asked if we were interested on purchasing the land because something bad happened to the old man he needed to be brought to the hospital and the family needed the money. Hubby then spoke with one of Tatay Arnulfo's children and told them that we don't have the cash to purchase it right away. They agreed to have a down payment just so they can bring their Father to the hospital. Thursday, we met with them and discussed about the price of the land in front of their father. Gave them the money that they asked and we helped them bring Tatay Arnulfo to the hospital.
Friday night, we received a call from his son that Tatay Arnulfo died already. We were really shocked. The family then asked us for another financial assistance. Just so they can arrange for Tatay Arnulfo's wake and for his burial. Hubby and I were stunned because we were thinking where to get the large sum of money just so the family can buy his casket, the arrangements for his burial and other expenses needed. We have some savings but we cannot give everything to them.
So we asked for guidance and prayed to the Lord. We immediately got a reply. Hubby got an idea to have his big bike pawned to one of his friends who owns a big motor shop here in our city, Yokohama Automotives. He told his friend about our dilemma why he needed to pawn his motor bike for what cause. His friend gladly extended his help. So we were able to produce the money for Tatay Arnulfo's wake and burial. Then a month after his burial we paid the balance to the family.
This was how we got to have this property. It was what we call a shotgun buy. But we were glad though to help out Tatay for his smooth repose since the family really had no financial means to do so.
The property has many fruit bearing trees like Mango trees 8 of them, Avocado trees, Cashew nuts, Bananas, Bignay plus Santol tree. There are some Mahogany trees as well.
When we went there the avocadoes have lots of fruits and some of the banana's as well. This property is not fenced so everybody are welcome to harvest our fruits since we don't come here often. In a way we are just sharing our blessings to our neighbors. The mango trees have no fruits this year because they were changing their leaves.
We love visiting our farm land because in a way it is our form of exercise since the way there is uphill and it is really a hike going there.
Sharing to you some photos of our Avocadoes and bananas with fruits.
We still have another property, our third. We call it the Hill top since the land is basically situated on a hill overlooking the surrounding mountains with around 30 mango trees and lots of cashew trees as well. This one is bigger than our second more than half a hectare but I will share its story on my next diary because this post will be long already. We will squeeze in some time to visit it next week so I can share some photos of it here. Hubby and I believed on the principle of investing. If you have extra money save it so when opportunities knock you will be able to grab hold of it. Purchasing a land is the best investment because overtime the value of a land does not depreciate but it appreciates. Also it is the best inheritance you can leave for your love ones.
I am truly grateful that me and hubby dances to the same dance. I think it is very important for couples to share the same goals, plans and aspirations. They must be one in reaching those goals together with our Loving Creator so He will bless those goals for them to manifest.
I hope you like my diary for the day.
Again my eternal gratitude to @jurich for always believing in me, @olivia @me2selah @jb123 for all their support since I have very little knowledge about how Steemit works. Also to all my new found virtual friends here on this platform.
I love you all,
