Wander Around the Tbilisi Old Town
When thinking What to Do in Tbilisi, you should consider first things first - visiting the old town. The old town of Tbilisi is like a labyrinth of narrow streets. Every street and house has its own story behind it. The people you can meet in the streets depict the colorful life of Tbilisi. This part of the city is full of charming wooden houses with cute little balconies and hidden courtyards. Although much of the old town has been renovated, there are still many buildings hiding more than 100 years of history.

Visit Holy Trinity Cathedral
One of the most iconic places in Tbilisi is Holi Trinity Cathedral. Tbilisi is full of churches and you can almost see one from each and every corner. However, the one that stands above all of them is locally known as Sameba. It is very impressive and majestic, as it is the third largest Orthodox cathedral in the world. Make sure to pay it a visit, if you are practicing any religion it will be even more interesting for you to learn about Orthodox practices and see the gorgeous cathedral.

Explore Liberty Square and Rustaveli Avenue
Liberty or Freedom Square is the heart of the city. Here you can see that Tbilisi is like a living creature - changing and developing every day. One of the streets that starts in Liberty Square is Rustaveli Avenue which is the central avenue in Tbilisi. Along and near the avenue, many cultural, business and government buildings are located. To name a few, the Georgian National Opera Theater, the Georgian Academy of Sciences, the Rustaveli State Academic Theater, and others.

See the Statue of Mother of Georgia
Georgians are a very religious and faithful nation. Churches, monuments and symbols play a high role in their lives. The Statue of Mother of Georgia is located right in the crossroads where Europe meets Asia. This impressive statue is a twenty-meter high woman in a traditional Georgian dress. The statue illustrates the Georgian personality - kind and welcoming, yet ready to fight for themselves. In her left hand, the woman holds a bowl of wine to greet those who come as friends, while in the right hand there is a sword for those who come as enemies.

Adore the Bridge of Peace
This bridge is a pedestrian bridge over the Kura River in the center of Tbilisi. This glass and steel construction will impress every visitor. You should visit it both by day and by night as it looks very modern by day and very stunning and even romantic at night. This construction is relatively new as it was opened in May 2010 and stands out in between the ancient houses of Tbilisi.

Shop at the Dry Bridge Flea Market
Another great thing that has to be on the list of what to do in Tbilisi is shopping at markets. There are many marketplaces where you can buy delicious goodies but we would like to highlight the Dry Bridge flea market. It is a perfect place for antique lovers. There is an enormous selection of jewelry, books, pins, maps, kitchenware, postcards to be found and much more great antiques. It is open daily from 10:00 - 17:00 if the weather permits.

Explore Mtatsminda Park
Mtatsminda Park is located at the top of Mount Mtatsminda and offers a spectacular view of Tbilisi. There are various attractions, cafes and great spots for nature lovers. You can easily spend a whole day there depending on your interests and just to take it slow and relax for a day.

Taste the Local Cuisine
We believe that there is a saying that one goes to Georgia to eat (and drink of course, haha) and we can definitely agree to that! Of course, the views are stunning but the food is the real deal! Tbilisi hosts a huge number of great cafes, restaurants, and bars. To name a few things you need to try without further delay - khinkali, khachapuri, chacha, and each and every wine. Actually, in Tbilisi, you can find everything you need in life - delicious bread and good wines! Is there something else we are missing out on? Cheers! Our favorite restaurant in Tbilisi, where a smiling grandpa met us with a wine carafe and the best khinkali's in the world - The Great Georgian!
Khinkali is our by far favourite Georgian food. Hold it by the top, bite into the juicy filling and suck out the broth!
