This ones a pretty special one for me, yes - it's a wedding photo - and yes - my wife and I were the professional photographers on the day. But this wasn't the usual wedding gig, this one was for two of our best friends.
It's strange shooting for two people you know so well, the groom was actually my best man at our wedding a little over 5 years ago. Sometimes it's difficult photographing family and friends, but this one was just a fantastic experience from start to finish. We spent the whole day seeing shots and pushing ourselves. Not just because it's someones wedding, but because they are our friends. Instead of feeling like work it felt like we'd taken a personal day to shoot what we wanted to shoot.
When you photograph weddings for a living it's really easy for it to start to feel like 'work' instead of a passion. It's days like this that really remind you just what you love about photography. Not as a career, but as a genuine passion in life!

Seriously beautiful image! I once photographed my best friends engagement and it remains one of my favourite shoots, it felt so comfortable and natural, I think they were more relaxed due to knowing the tog, now following, I’d love to see more of your work!
Thanks @tim.clarke, it's definitely a big bonus getting to know your couples for wedding shoots (we usually do a pre-wed shoot to do just that) so if you're friends already it makes that connection so much better. Usually that translates to more emotive photography that really captures the feeling! Will be posting another tomorrow from this wedding :) might try to post one a day (Not all from this wedding!)
