Colorchallenge: Wednesday Yellow - Ancient Persian Bathhouse
This photo I took inside Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse in Kashan, Iran. It was built in the 16th century, during the Safavid era. It was also known as the Qasemi Bathhouse, and despite being named after a sultan, is was a public bathhouse with a clever water heating system and many different halls for different purposes - from smoking hookah to massage.

Wow! Marvelous bathhouse :)
Very ancient design of bathhouse.
Sultan Amir-Ahmad Bathhouse, with an area of around 1,000 square meters, consists of two main parts: the dressing room and the hot bath room. The interior of the bathhouse is decorated with turquoise and gold tiles, plasterwork, bricks, as well as artistic paintings. The roof of the bathhouse is made up of multiple domes that contain convex glass to provide sufficient lighting to the bathhouse while hiding it from the outside.
Some indicate that the visit to the Amir Sultan's baths would not be complete without going up to its roof that offers an exceptional panoramic view of Kashan. A door right in front of the ticket office gives access to the roof where the glass domes that we have seen in the bathrooms stand out and that illuminate them after the sun goes down. Therefore, the best time to visit the baths is at dusk, when the sky turns from orange to dark blue and the ancient city of Kashan begins to light up delighting the photographers and where the photogenic illuminated vaults kept us mesmerized for more from one hour.
