I prefer my thumbnail to be in landscape almost always. But I prefer a portrait composition in my photos for the most part. Sadly with most of my shoots I don't have a good landscape to post for the thumbnail. I posted for Instagram for so long I stopped taking in landscape.

Its funny how using different posting platforms can influence your shooting style. I've heard a few Instagram users say the same thing.
