An unfortunate son: Adonis
[Julius and Adonis]
Adonis is the son of Julius and the nephew of Midland's King. Unlike his father, he is a very handsome boy.
아도니스는 율리어스의 아들이자 미들랜드 국왕의 조카임(율리어스가 미들랜드 왕의 동생이기 때문)
우락부락한 아버지와는 달리 매우 잘생겼음.
He is a cousin of Charlotte. Julius thought that Adonis might marry Charlotte and taught him hard. Hassan thought his training is very excessive and he advised Julius as a butler. In fact, Julius was instinctively wary of Griffith's ambition and decides to reduce education for his son. However, Julius were killed by Guts before having a frank chat with his son.
샬로트 공주와는 사촌지간이어서 훗날 샬로트의 남편감으로 점쳐지던 인물임. 그래서 율리우스는 아도니스를 ㅈㄴ 빡세게 가르침. 집사 하산이 좀 작작하라고 조언할 정도로. 율리우스는 그리피스를 시기질투하던 사람들과는
달리 그리피스를 본능적으로 경계하던 사람임 (이 양반은 그리피스에게 본능적으로 위기감을 느낌). 아버지이기도 해서 훈련을 좀 줄이고 대화를 해볼까 생각하는데 그렇게 생각한 그날에 가츠한테 죽음
Suddenly the door opens and out of nowhere an unexpected person shows up when Julius was murdered by Guts. He was Adonis. What's even worse, he has come to his room to meet Julius, and Guts have accidentally killed him. Originally, Guts intended to kill Julius and didn't expect him to come here.
그런데 문이 열리고 아도니스가 쑥 튀어나옴. 예정에도 없던 상황이어서 가츠는 율리우스를 죽이고 나서 우발적으로 아도니스마저 죽여버림. 아도니스는 아버지 율리우스에게 볼 일이 있어서 방에 온 것임. 아도니스는 그날 저 방에 안 왔으면 살 수도 있었음.
Whenever Adonis was practicing hard physical training, Guts didn't feel he was anybody. Guts worked as mercenaries since childhood and had a lot of rough work. Guts remembered his childhood and sympathized with him. Gus held Adonis’s hands, but he died in a short time. Hassan closes his eyes when his bodies are discovered and truly deplore his death.
가츠는 어린 나이에 용병일을 하고 워낙에 고생하면서 자란터라, 아도니스가 ㅈㄴ 개빡세게 훈련할때마다 저게 남일 같지가 않았음. 아도니스는 치명상으로 죽고 하산이 아도니스의 눈을 감겨줌. 눈도 채 못감고 죽음.

"도련님은 아버지한테 따뜻한 말 한마디 듣지 못했는데"
And Hassan is furious and orders him to kill, but Guts escapes from all the pursuers.
하산은 아도니스를 진심으로 아끼던 집사였고 극대노해서 얘 죽인놈들 모조리 잡아죽이라고 지시함. 가츠는 하산이 보낸 정예 추격자들을 따돌리고 그리피스에게 무사히 도착함.
Griffith smiles at the news that Adonis died. Griffith is a competent general, but he comes from a commoner. Adonis was a young boy, but he was the nephew of the king. Whether done consciously or not, Adonis was an obstacle to Griffith's rise. Some day, Adonis was likely to be assassinated by Griffith.
그리피스는 가츠가 우발적으로 아도니스를 죽인 것을 내심 좋아함. 솔직히 그리피스는 실력으로 장군이 되었지만 근본은 평민임. 아도니스는 꼬꼬마지만 왕의 조카임. 애초에 아도니스는 나이만 어렸지 그리피스, 가츠 이런 애들과는 태생부터가 다른 금수저. 더 안습인 것은, 의도하든 의도하지 않았든 간에 아도니스는 그리피스의 빅 픽쳐에(샬로트 공주랑 결혼해서 왕국을 세우는 것) 방해물이 되는 것은 기정사실. 이때가 아니더라도 아도니스는 그리피스한테 죽었을거라고 봄.
On the contrary, Guts are pained by the guilt of killing innocent boy. He also hesitates to kill the apostles who have seen the child.
반대로 가츠는 무고한 사람을 죽였다는 사실에 크나큰 죄책감과 트라우마를 갖게 되었는지, 어린 아이의 모습을 한 사도들을 보고 망설이기도 함.
