Behind The Mystery Door

After reading many amazing entries for the ''behindthemysterydoor'' contest that is held by @onceuponatime , I decided to make a post devoted to this challenge. I hope you like my approach of the imaginery story and you find the sound effects interesting additions that increase a notch the suspense built around the script.Trust me it makes quite a difference.

                                                              Story

You are standing in front of the door. Second thoughts run through your mind. What if somebody lives there? What if it’s somebody’s property and they are not around at the moment? Many things are possible but suddenly you hear something behind the door. Immediately you put your ear on the door to hear better. The noise isn’t that loud or anything close to what you have experienced before. 

You want to open that damn door but the feelings are taking over your body. Fear and stress are starting to make you anxious. You hate that state of mind but you decided to go with your gut. Your hand slowly inches towards the door handle. After using a little force, you found that although the door looks old and supposedly heavy it opens relatively easy. However, you can’t get away from the creaking door sound that gives you goosebumps for an instant second.

Behind the door, there's complete darkness. The noise you heard before has silenced completely. While at the edge of turning around and leaving, you see a small light at the end of the room. Inviting, mysterious but a bit suspicious too. How is that light working you start to wonder.

After trying to have a better look, you start to figure out that it looks more like a crystal ball rather than an ordinary light. All of a sudden it makes a weird sound.

Fear, self-doubt, inner scars, trauma, pain, losses, and suppressed subconsciousness are all starting to be projected on that ball. The energy in that room has electrified. You know that you have entered all by yourself but you can feel you are not alone anymore. 

Out of the blue you felt like you were pushed into the crystal ball. What the hell? you shout and turn around. 

For a moment your vision gets all blurry but now you can see clearly. You see your doppelganger standing on the other side of the room. Although he looks much like you, he has nothing in common with your existence. It’s your inner villain because it’s sneaky and up to no good. It hides in your subconscious mind, and you don’t even realize it exists but now you know it’s there, he is right in front of you. And the worst part about this inner demon is that, in most cases, external factors in your life that seemed innocuous created him. 

All the times you found yourself wondering why you were working faster, but your life didn’t go quicker or you tried harder but you couldn’t reach that next level of life, all those questions were answered at that moment. You know who was responsible for all of that. You had a demon working against you and you didn’t even know it. The good news? You had him right in front of you, exposed and able to kill. 

After staring at him for a while, you grab a sharp rock and before you know it you are ready for the most important fight of your life. 

You are all over each other. The fight is really close. After a few exchanges, nobody looks ready to back down. He lands a few hits on your body but you are a tough dog yourself. Adrenaline is at the highest levels and a few wounds won’t keep you from standing on your feet. He manages to knock the rock out of your hand but it doesn’t go very far from both of you . 

You both catch your breath and the fight goes on.

Nothing is more important than taking control over who will be the last man alive. Your lives disappointments can be extinguished if only you eliminate your inner villain. 

But as the time passes the villain becomes stronger and stronger. Fear, terror, anxiety feed him.There is no chance you can beat him without having a clear mind. Then it hits you. He can only get power from your weaknesses. So, in order to kill him, you need to be as strong as possible. Now, you come to a realization that you were less afraid when you encountered the biggest challenges in your life. Life was better only when you had a positive attitude. Nothing could break you down regardless how serious the problems were.

You start to tell him ’’You can only do one thing in your life, sabotage my dreams but that ends today’’. 

‘’Negative, jealous, harmful people like you have no place on this planet, as from today I’m free’’ you add. 

The villain slowly weakens and starts to fall on his knees begging for mercy. Nonetheless, you know him better. It’s one of his many ways to trick you.You see the sharp stone from the corner of your eye and the villain knows the end is near.

 As he is trying to move his body, you stop him. He is looking for one last loophole to get into your head but at the bottom of his heart (your heart) he knows he doesn’t stand any chance. 

You approach closer and closer to him until there is no room left for him to go anywhere. Nothing to do, nowhere to go. A feeling familiar to you as that’s how you feel every time he takes control and leaves you no alternative. But now is your and victory is yours year after year.Everyone will get the chance to meet the real you no matter the place, time or circumstances.

 You raise both your hands in the air, just like a champion. 

‘’No, no, noooo ‘’ he yells and then you stab him right across the heart with the stone.
