Bees in May

in #bees7 years ago

Close to a fountain on top of a Hill I keep seeing these amazing bees every year. Various hives have their homes around this area. Unlike wasps they tend to really be unconcerned when humans are around. It almost feels as if they have this grand purpose as a collective. Taking pictures of them becomes this amazing experience. beesmile.jpgSometimes it feels as if they smile. bee10.jpgAfter seeing the movie "more than honey" and realizing the importance of these pollinators they have become some of my favorite beings. bee6.jpg I hope that people will realize one day that plantations are habitats/biospheres for so many living creatures and plant life that all are dependent on each other. Plants and insects work in a synergy that we are only just beginning to understand. How can we start destroying such environments at these early stages of our understanding about these workings? Isn't it the workings of Nature from which we derive our inventions and technologies and from which we can learn so much from? We arrogantly claim infallibility to know the outcome of employing pesticides that kill beneficial insects and plants that are a part of a greater dynamic cycle. Unless we don't understand the dynamics that bring such Eco-systems to equilibrium, agronomic sciences should pave the way to 21st century organic farming! So much deserted area on our planet can be fertilized again.
