Michigan beer!
Though I am surrounded by fantastic craft breweries (we used to call them micro breweries,) I always like to admire the grass on the other side of the fence. Michigan craft breweries that is.
If you check out the blog of @cryptictruth, you will find he enjoys the fruits and hops of the region much like I do. Well I found one of his beers in my neck of the woods and had to get it! I would prefer to find a Bell’s https://www.bellsbeer.com or something of the like but Founders https://foundersbrewing.com will do!
What I like most about this beer is the size. Look how it dwarfs the tiny little 500 ml can from https://cowbellbrewing.com/age-gate just 136 km from the Michigan border!
Besides that, it is a solid beer. Not as hoppy as many of the IPAs I prefer but there is something to be said about a good session IPA with a little less alcohol so you can enjoy an extra one in a sitting, or session.
At a respectable 42 IBU (rather specific number for the bitterness index) and a fantastic 4.7% alchohol, this is a little extra beer that is not shy on taste.
I am enjoying it while watching the hockey game after a tough jiu jitsu workout like a good hoser. Thanks Michigan!
