Steemit #BeerSaturday Challenge -- week 34 Magic Hat Hi #9
Sitting here doing crypto taxes and decided, man I need a drink! Ah, but it's #BeerSaturday a perfect excuse for a mid afternoon beer! Or two :)
So last weeks beer Saturday I posted about the split 6er I bought. It was a Magic Hat limited edition box set featuring two different beers. I think it's a limited edition box. Anyway it featured two versions of its #9 beer. Last week I reviewed the "Original Not Quite Pale Ale #9" & this week I thought I'd review the HI #9 "Not Quite India Pale Ale"
I mentioned last week, I'm more of a stout guy. I do like a bargain though and these were on special at my local beer store, buy 1 split 6er get 1 free. I really enjoyed the Original #9 and I have to say, Hi #9 was just as surprising. Marketed as "Hoppy Spinoff not quite india pale ale #9" I'm not a huge fan of overly hoppy beers. Like the review last week though I felt this was a really well balanced taste, a bit dry, with hints of citrus. The added hoppyness :) isn't over powering and I have to admit I'd drink this one again. I found it really refreshing.
It poured nicely into my favorite beer glass, with a nice foamy head and an actual gold color. The image is a little dark, but the color was almost a perfect gold matching the gold casino advertisement on the glass perfectly. All in all I really enjoyed this and would get it again. It paired well with my crypto taxes, and relieved the stress and anxiety I was beginning to feel as my realized tax obligation became clear to me! I strongly suggest many of these before and after tax time :)
On a final note, if you're ever in Niagara Falls Canada and stop by Casino Niagara I highly recommend these beer glasses. They were given to me as a gift awhile back, and they're my favorites now. Really pours a perfect beer, nice head, and the fragrant aroma fills your nostrils as you drink. Cheers everyone and hoppy beer Saturday!

How are taxes treated on cypto in the States? Is it like interest on savings in a bank or is it treated as income? I've no idea what it would be here in the UK.
I can see why you'd need a beer either way. I've just finished my tax return. Thank God!!!
No we have to pay on what are considered capital gains. We have to deduct the purchase price from our selling price, then pay taxes on the gains made. It gets even more complicated then that with crypto when you take into account the fluctuating price of BTC. MEH! If you made thousand of trades over the year, it's a real pain in the behind! I'm just about done now, I'll sit down with the accountant in a couple weeks and hopefully he can find some deductions :)
I suspect it is the same here but we have a capital gains allowance so that should help. Although I was speaking to someone a couple of weeks ago who made £6k in December. Since the allowance is only £11,700 that's not going to be much help to him. Nice problem to have!
LOL, Yeah, I could think of much worse problems to have in life :)
Doing the taxes is a boring task, but with a good beer, it enhances the experience ;)
