Kenyan Beer and South African Braai.

Sunday we were visiting my mother-in-law, for a braai!! Like usual we were braaiing outside on an open fire, this time made with charcoal briquettes. As you can see the braai was laden heavily with various meats and sausage!!

Just look at that juicy steak, perfect and suddenly I am feeling very hungry again!!

My brother-in-law visited Kenya during the past week and brought me 3 local beers from there. It is very nice when everybody knows that I write about beer on steem and thus brings me beer from everywhere as gifts!!

The first beer, I tested was the Tusker Lager. I like their slogan Together Forever.

The beer comes in a 500 ml can and has a 4.2% alcohol content. Tusker has been brewing beer since 1922 according to the label on the back of the can.

The beer has good carbonation and pours with a nice white head, with a nice light golden color!! This beer looks good, but the taste is rather boring - not much taste, although it is very drinkable and light, I can see that it will work well in hot and humid conditions.

The second beer I tested, was the Tusker Malt

This beer also comes in a 500 ml can and has a 5% alcohol content.

This beer also has good carbonation and pours with a darker golden color when compared with the lager. It also has a nice white head!!

The head however dissipated quite quickly!!

The beer had a more distinct malty taste than the lager, but there was also some strange taste that I did not like and could not place.

Between the two I would rather drink the lager. I have not tested the light yet, it will have to weight for later.

The day was again very enjoyable, eating lunch with family.
