The Seventh Seal, from the Seventh circle of hell (in a good way)!

Phantom Carriage is a local Brewery in Carson, CA. It opened not too long ago (2015) in a kindof middle of nowhere industrial area less than a mile from where the Good Year blimp parks. The front of the building is very unassuming; you would even drive right by if you weren't specifically looking for it..

Inside however, once your eyes adjust to the darkness, the very thematic brewery offers many delights for your palate, and your sense of adventure as well! These beers have fantastic quality.

There are between 12-15 rotating taps at all times, and they do rotate frequently. The tagline says right out: "Specializing in wild..funky....barrel aged sour beers"!!! Thats my style these days. There were 5 sours available for tasting the day I went. I always get the tasting menu whenever possible.

My go to move is to buy a bottle of the beer I like the best, to take home. It doesn't always work because they don't bottle everything, but this time it worked out. The Seventh Seal is tart, funky, refreshing, and leaves that aftertaste that makes you want the next sip. Great for digesting your food too, which is good because they have an eclectic food menu.

Check out the back label for detailed info. I do like all range of ABV in my sours, from the 3.9% berlinerweisse to the 17% barley wine. This one settles in at a comfortable 8%.

Oh, by the way they also have a room where you can sit and watch classic horror movies. Why is your date chugging down sippable beer? Because the horror movie. Now please excuse me while I go look up what "Malvasia grapes" are.
