Say hello to the crazy bird! Happy beersaturday with a special Uiltje!

Saturday evening... Found myself at the Nosferatu beer shop&bar. A perfect timing to pick a beer for this week's #beersaturday event. Also a great time to enjoy some great beers. After having a nice Bulgarian IPA from the brewery "Трима и двама", I picked a special Uiltje new batch of a Pineapple weizen. Wow, this one kicked with freshness and topped the classical summer weizen with some pineapple tropical vibes. Definitely deserves to be enjoyed!

So... I really was in a hard confusion trying to find the best beer for this week's beer contest. So many newcomers... I actually haven't bought any beer from Bulgarian shop soon, and there was a ton of untasted beers in the shop. Well, I decided to go with something special and something that will not be around soon... When the batch ends, of course!
So here it is: Uiltje Sequence Series - CASK FERMENT #2.

It says that this beer was farmented and aged in Speyside an bourbon casks and aged with fresh limes in the last 5 months. The style is a blend between Berliner Weisse and Golden Sour Ale. Now that really sounds awesome and was a must-buy one!

The pour in the glass appears golden straw and a bit unclear. Resembles Fanta orange a lot. You can really feel the lime freshness right when pouring the beer in the glass. The foam is perfect white, and disappears pretty quickly, which is typical for most of the sour beers. Well, it keeps on sparkling and bubbling, which shows the high levels of carbonation!

Giving it a nice smelling, you can definitely catch the lime aroma right on top of the other ones. Typical Berliner sourness i presented, but it's somehow in the company of a farmhouse Brett character. Well, this is what I call a great aroma bouquet.

In mouth, these aromas just boost all your senses and the beer gives you a great freshness. No hops at all, pretty normal for Berliner Weisse beers, but this one just explodes with its flavors. I didn't quite catch the Speyside character, maybe there was a bit Bourbon touch in it. Definitely, this is the ultimate fresh summer beer, but yet I may prefer the beer from my last week's #beersaturday post - the BEVOG Brut Fruit.
I love the touch of burnt rubber and barnyard in the company of Limes blast of that Uiltje. This is something, that is missing in the BEVOG, which is straight Lacto and fruit forward beer.

What is your favorite summer beer? Cheers, fellows and happy #beersaturday!

What an incredible looking beer. And aged in bourbon barrels. That sounds so different with the fruit flavours as well.

I had a tropical style pale ale today that would have to rank really high on my summer beers list. I posted the review today. :)

I'll check your review, mate! Cheers!

This sounds amazing - I love a good sour, barrel aged and all.

"great aroma bouquet" indeed!! This sounds like a really unique beer.. These once off beers must be frustrating sometimes especially when they are quality and then you can't get em anymore!! :o) loved the colour of this beer too, your photos really make me want a sup!

Off beers are now a piece of an art 😁
It’s a pity though, that they are somehow rare and more expensive, compared to the other traditional ales.
