Hey, there, #beersaturday fellows and beer lovers! How are you today?
Here's another player from Stone and another collaboration from their special edition beers from the brewery in Berlin. In this one Stone meets Lervig brewery (from Norway) and they createt a heavily hopped ale, fermented with the unique Norwegian yeast strain "Kveik".

Hello, I'm Kveik!

As you may already know, the Kveik strain produces very unique fruity esters when fermenting the wort and it can easily handle temperatures of fermentation above 40 degrees celsius. I was very impatient to see what Stone ahve achieved, so easily went towards opening the can.

The color was absolutely straw golden. Very light and beer was clear when pouring the forst half of it in the glass. The aromas coming from the golden liquid were definitely very fruity, grapefruit in dominance, definitely, and maybe some oranges. Orange flavors were definitely a characteristic of the Kveik strain of yeast. Grapefruit - maybe as a unique aroma of the heavy hopping with american hop varieties. Hops and yeast together were blending in a very nice fresh and juicy profile of the beer.

In the mouth - very light malt profile, no excessive maltines and a lot of fruity esters and essential oils from the hops. Carbonation was definitely right there, where it was supposed to be. A bit more carbonated than the mid-levels, but not overcarbed. From the secont pour in the glass, Some hops particles came into the glass and the beer became a bit hazy. But this was definitely meaning it will have even a bit more flavor, cause these particles carry only aromas. And yes, I think they use cryo hops in this beer too. It's not stated on the label, but this is my own opinion.

And the beer definitely bared a bit of this tingling or biting feeling on the tongue. A clear sign for using a lot of hops. Will I have another one of this? Definitely would like to, if I have the chance.

So this is for today, fellows. See you soon and happy #beersaturday.
Cheers.

P.S.
All these special collection Stone beers are above 6,2-6,5% alc, and having even only one 500 ml. can makes you feel tipsy a bit. LOL...

The can looks really nicely designed, hope this Stone beer is just as good!

The can design is awesome. They keep this can design for their anniversary collection, only putting on different labels. They did a pretty decent job imo.

The guys from Lervig really know what they are doing, a great brewery. Stone not too shabby either.
