Beer and smoked things

For this week's #BeerSaturday I will show some beers and some food items that were smoked.

I start with Thursday night, A friend invited us out to dinner for his birthday. Where did he want to go? To our favorite brewery of course, Lolo Peak Brewing. I had one of their Raspberry small batch infusions.

It was so good I had a second one as well.

We got a beef brisket out of the freezer last night and today I mixed up a dry rub and a wet mop.

Then I trimmed the brisket, but I saved the fat pieces for use later in the smoking process.

Here is the smoker doing its thing. The top rack holds some garlic bulbs and sweet peppers I wanted to try smoking along with the brisket.

The garlic and peppers only stayed in for 2.5 hours before they were done.

We purreed them up and put the garlic in little baggies which we stored in the freezer.

Then we opened up the tester bottle of the huckleberry wheat ale I made a few weeks ago. It turned out quite nice.

We also poured some Alpenglow Wheat from Lolo Peak we had gotten on Thursday.

The brisket was still cooking but we were hungry so we some made up some brussels sprouts with crumbled bacon and honey with nuts.

I also made dessert of gingersnaps.

We are still waiting for the brisket to finish. Hopefully we will get to try some at some point later today.
