Beer and food
For this week's #BeerSaturday I present a few beer and food pairings.
The first pairing was on St. Patrick's Day. We went to Lolo Peak Brewing and had their Irish Red Ale. It was quite tasty and very drinkable.
We had corned beef and cabbage to go with it.
The next pairing was after we went to the last of the lectures on space. They had a reception with some food and drinks. We had Dragon's Breath from Bayern Brewery. It is a dark hefeweizen, also called a dunkelweizen. We had crackers, cheese, pita bread, hummus, and lemon bars to go with it.
Tonight we went to Old Chicago for a friend's birthday party. After a day of vehicle issues and losing badly at Pandemic Legacy Season 2 a beer was in order. I had a Killarney from Bayern Brewery. It is an Irish red and hit the spot. My wife had a Black Ghost from Madison River Brewing. It is an oatmeal stout that she said was very good.
We paired these with some cheese curds, which we ate so fast I didn't get a picture, and a couple of pizzas. One was a deep dish with pepperoni and mushroom. This was enjoyable.
The other was a semi-thin crust steak and beer cheese. This was not as enjoyable and we won't be getting it again.
