Beer Review

Pavement is an 8.2% alcohol/volume Imperial/Double IPA brewed by Foam Brewers in Burlington, Vermont. Foam Brewers is a relatively new operation that opened up in 2016 by a group of individuals with a shared passion for brewing, science, art, music, and culture. They quickly made a name for themselves in the craft beer scene. The brewery is located directly across from the beautiful Lake Champlain. They are named 'Foam Brewers' because foam is one of the most exciting parts of the beer that provides the drink with stability and complexity. I stopped by the brewery and picked up a case of the Pavement last month during a double can release last month.

The Can

The Pavement is served in a full pint can. On the front of the label the typical Foam Brewers logo is featured in mosaic style with red, orange and purple color tones. On the back of the can there are keys from a piano painted in an upward fashion like a staircase. It's as if the tasting notes of the Pavement will create a melody. Overall it was a fine looking can for a fine tasting beer.

The Beer

I snagged a full case of the Pavement so I have done plenty of taste-testing. It was a delicious, hard-hitting IIPA. As I poured the Pavement into a glass it glowed in a bright yellow tone. Tropical aromas filled the air. At first sip I got a taste of pineapple, mango and citrus. The hoppy, tropical flavor does a great job of masking the 8.2% alcohol content. It wasn't the juiciest of IIPA's but it sure can hang with the best. It was strong, delicious and delightful. Overall a great New England style IIPA. I look forward to trying more from Foam Brewers in the future!
