Gunner's Daughter is a 5.5% Milk Stout brewed by the Mast Landing Brewing Company in Westbrook, Maine. Mast Landing Brewing Company began as a small home-brew operation in the garage back in 2013. In 2015 the company was officially formed and they began cranking out different beer varieties and recipes. The Gunner's Daughter was a deliciously balanced milk stout with notes of peanut butter, coffee, and dark chocolate. This was the first beer I ever tried from Mast Landing Brewing Company.

The Can

Gunner's Daughter is served in a full pint can. The label is black with a golden, floral design around the edges. In the center of the label a sailing vessel with a massive mast is seen with what seems to be wheat alongside. It's a solid vessel for a great stout.

The Beer

This is my first time trying a beer from Mast Landing Brewing Company and I was impressed. The Gunner's Daughter had a smooth feeling with a complex flavor. Roasted coffee blends with nuts and chocolate. At 5.5% alcohol/volume this is a very tasty and drinkable milk stout. The subtle hint of peanut butter is amazing. I look forward to trying more beers from Mast Landing Brewing Company in the future.
