Counterpunch is a 7% American IPA brewed by Counter Weight Brewing Co. in Hamden, Connecticut. Counter Weight is a relatively new beer-maker that has quickly made a name for itself in the North East market. They make a variety of beers from German Pilsners and Oatmeal Stouts to bright and hoppy IPAs. Counterpunch is a hazy American IPA brewed with Amarillo, Galaxy, and Citra hops. It was the first beer I ever tried from Counter Weight Brewing Co. and it was a juicy, tropical delight.

The Can
The Counterpunch can was sold in 16oz pints. As you can see in the photo above, it featured a dark, yet colorful geometric design. The word 'Counterpunch' was written in a blurry font, as if it were moving quickly. On the back of the can, the following paragraph can be read:
Counterpunch is a right hook straight to your palate! Bursting with hoppy flavor, utilizing an all-star lineup of heavy hitting American and Australian hops, proven medium-weight malts and a beast of a yeast. This IPA is geared to deliver a tropical, floral and devastating blow you won’t soon forget.
The Beer
I poured the Counterpunch into my teku glass and I was excited when I saw the color. Ultra hazy, yet bright. The way the foam formed at the top indicated I was in for some good juice. It was a tasty beer full of tropical notes and hints of floral hops. I can understand why they called it Counterpunch, as it's essentially a Fruit-Punch beer. At 7% alc/vol, the Counterpunch was delicious. I definitely look forward to trying more from Counter Weight Brewing Co. in the future.

Hello friend, really attractive both the liquid and the image of the container, the taste must be very explosive to the palate, I like to collect packaging of beers, but I had not had the pleasure of seeing something innovative. Perfect to start relaxing for the weekend. Here in Venezuela we are living very dark hours, I have faith and hope that we celebrate with a good beer.
