Tipples Beer Review #98 - Moondog Brewery (Australia)

Moon Dog are would be in my top five Australian breweries, they always make interesting brews, they have a wicked sense of homour and they run a great brewery bar in the back streets of Abbotsford, which isn't too far from my house. More importantly the bar also has amazing pizzas so it's a excellent place to stop for lunch and have a few brews

Our first beer is named after a famous Monty Python scene in Holy Grail- it's name - Your Mother was a Hamster, It is an Elderflower and Strawberry lager. This is cloudier than Melbourne in winter, its a browny yellow colour, which wouldn't be normal for a lager, but I'll go with it because it very refreshing, sweet with a fruity tang - quite impressive.

The Brutus beefcake

Next is the Brutus Beefcake Tropical Fruity duble Brut IPA, what professional wrestlers have to do with brut IPAs is anyone's guess (beyond the name of course) and what a doubled brut IPA is, other than doubly confusing is also beyond comprehension. Anyway this is a reasonable IPA, sort of hoppy but the lack of smell and the absence of aftertaste I think make it worse, I understand that's the whole point of a Brut IPA, but give me a regular one any day of the week.
