Beer Advent Day 15 - Ballistic Beer Hazy IPL

So we had the first of our family Christmas dinners today - this one with my Mum who lives in South Australia and was over in Melbourne for the weekend so this beer was consumed amongst others with traditional Christmas fare like fruit mince pies.

Ballistic Beer Co are from Queensland in the North of Australia, the name comes from the fact that Salisbury where they are located produces ammunition for the Australian army during WW2 - now of course it reminds me of the Billy Bragg lyric - messing about of Salisbury plain.

Anyway back to the beer, this is a Hazy IPL - which has to be pretty close to tasting like a hazy new england style IPA, but with less hops and one assumes brewed with lager yeast. Well I can tell you that it is hazy, a creamy yellow colour, it smells of fruits, mango mainly. so all things pointing to NEIPA. It actually quite drinkable, less hoppy than a NEIPA and a little smoother. It's nice fruity, fresh, and very refreshing.
