Shorts Brewing Mule Beer
So I saw Mule Beer by Shorts Brewing in the store and thought it sounded interesting. Shorts makes some weird, but awesome beers so I gave them the benefit and picked it up.
Let me tell you they nailed it. If you
close your eyes you would swear you were drinking a Moscow Mule. Mule Beer is an Ale brewed with lime and ginger to give it that iconic flavor profile.
This beer has a hazy copper/yellowish color with an off-white head that fades to a light cap. There was not much lacing as I poured it into a traditional Moscow Mule mug.
This beer has a strong aroma which is made up of pungent ginger and tangy lime. The aroma has less alcohol than the vodka in the actual mixed drink.
If you have had the mixed drink you would know it’s characterized by pronounced flavors of ginger and lime which are definitely present in this one. The interesting thing with this beer the traditional flavors are accompanied by a biscuit like maltiness which lets you know it’s a beer.
Overall, this light-bodied and flavorful Moscow Mule inspired brew finishes with a spicy ginger kick that would satisfy beernerd and mixed drink fans

What an interesting concept - a beer with ginger and lime...that could certainly work
