Octoberfest
So my RC are finally at 100% and my VM is almost back to 100% so it time to celebrate with a drink. The last few days have been eye opening. Let’s be honest HF20 was a mess, but it’s been great to see the community work together to remedy the issues and restore an equilibrium.
It honor of the equilibrium being restored I’m breaking the Octoberfest beer by Bells Brewery.
Bells describes this one as a beer Crafted as a flavorful session beer and perfect for autumn, Octoberfest spends a full six weeks fermenting.
With herbal hop aromas, this balanced amber lager focuses on lightly toasted malt that lends body without too much sweetness. Perfect for a week-long wedding celebration in Germany or the start of the Michigan autumn.
I would agree with their tasting comments. This beer is beautiful it’s amber in color with a white fluffy head that settles to a thin white foam.
The aroma is very toasty like freashly baked bread. There is loads of malt with light floral and hops notes.
The taste is malty with loads of white bread and a medium amounts of floral and herbal hops.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied and this one has a fair amount carbonation. The beer is slightly sweet upfront, but has a dry finish like many other beers of this style.
Overall, this is one of my favorite autumn beers. When I see it hit the shelves I know it’s officially fall.
