Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Pumpkin Chai (2018) by Saugatuck Brewing Company. Now we are talking this year they increased the ABV to 9.5% and then aged this delicious concoction in Bourbon Barrels for flavor enhancing 8 months!
The sweet, strong bourbon flavors are prominent in this beer which was to be expected. The delicate body of this lighter subtle flavored beer is more susceptible to the bourbon flavors and aromas. However, don’t you worry, they didn’t lose the pumpkin or chai tea flavors goodness. They masterfully crafted this one so you hit with strong chai tea up front, followed by a smooth pumpkin finish.
If you close your eyes you would think you are drinking pumpkin pie! It’s seriously that good. Plus that 9.5% ABV gives you a buzz that rivals your drunk uncle on thanksgiving.
