Brickway Brewery and Distillery - Omaha, Nebraska

Beer Review

Brickway's Oak-Aged Imperial stout is a 9.2% alcohol/volume brew with a very dark brown color. Immediately, you get the rich flavor of the whiskey barrels that it has aged in. The body is incredibly smooth and a very easy drinker for such a high alcohol content.

The Bottle

The Brickway Oak-Aged Imperial Stout bottle features artwork from local tattoo artist Dave Koenig. (If you have seen any of my past reviews of Brickway, you will see he does amazing work!) It features a sketch of a reindeer primarily because this was originally the holiday spiced stout. What they did was instead of adding the different spices, they let it age in whiskey barrels over the past year. They sold limited bottles of it because it was unlike anything they have ever done before but their experiment turned out to be a success!

The Brewery

The owner, Zac, went to brewery and distillery school in Scotland prior to opening in Omaha. Also, Brickway is the first brewery/distillery in the state of Nebraska since prior to prohibition! Their beer is sold in neighboring states but the demand is quickly growing! Here is Omaha, a pint of the oak-aged imperial stout runs you $8.99. Look for this in your local stores or stop by and visit! You will not be disappointed!

Thanks for reading! And Happy #beersaturday!
