Beer review: Anna, Fruitig bruin

in #beer3 years ago

On what might be one of the last sunny days of the year I decided to have a fruity beer.

In my basement I found a beer by a small Belgian company: It is a brown beer consisting of barley and wheat malt. The fruit is courtesy of natural blueberry aroma (according to the label), meaning that it is made by adding this aroma to the beer somewhere during or fermentation process or even after, immediately imparting the fruity aroma, rather than drawing it out through a slower maceration process.

The beer is at 5ABV, so an ideal drinking beer. The sweetness of the blueberry at the start somewhat clashed with the rest of the beer, but this was only at the first sip. Later on, different flavours appeared to mix better, and created a reasonably pleasant experience.

Enjoyable, preferably well chilled, on warm and sunny days, also probably ideal with (or as part of) desert.
