Still a 6 hours + to mash, boil, clean and everything else.... add the time to it and it's not that wort it. On my cheapest recipe i'm at about 1.10$ 1.15$ CAD per Liter. But there's a way to make a second batch, growing yeast.... The quality of beer it's possible to make at home is amazing!!!
So the time and labour it takes is paid by the quality ;)
One should consider that making beer can be a fun process too. It's like creating art...except you can drink it when you're done. It's not all about the money! (But I do like to find ways to be efficient in my brewing too, to save time and money!)
