Tipples Beer Review #79 - Feral F15 Barrel Aged Brown Ale - Aust

This is a brown ale that has spent 6 month having a bath in heaven Hill bourbon barrels, which sounds like a pretty good way to spend 6 months.

Now this beer was brewed to celebrate Feral Brewery's 15th birthday. That makes them pretty old by Australian craft beer standards and Feral, who are based out of Perth in Western Australia, are one grandfather's of craft beer in this country, they type of brewery which inspired a hundred other breweries, so we have a lot to thank them for.

It's a bit of a shame that its now owned by Coca Cola Amatil, the Australian bottlers of Coke, but if they still produce beers as good as this one then Coke is it.

It a luscious beer with lovely sweet vanilla tones which are really interesting without being overpowering there is close to no carbonation, but a creamy solid head is there. The body is jet black or at least it looks in in my dimly lit house on a rainy night in winter and I can't be bothered turning on the lights to check.

Such and enjoyable beer, almost worth the 15 year wait.
