You've described it quite well, better than the lowest common denominator beers, not as good a Coopers and not as good as most of the hundred of pale ales produced by any number of Aussie craft brewers - think 4 Pines, Feral, Burleigh, even Gage Roads. but at the end of the day it's beer, which can never be bad.
