BrewDog Slot Machine - Review
BrewDog Slot Machine
This beer appeared on the market in September 2017. It was supposed to be a winter warmer for cold evenings to come. Current weather is perfectly aligned with the idea, therefore it is a great chance to try it for the first time, and check how well it fulfills its purpose. Slot Machine is red rye IPA when it comes to style, ingredients are: Carafa, Crystal, Extra, Pale and rye malts that fermented to 5.2% of alcohol. Hops are: Amarillo and Magnum, that both accounts for 55 IBU (International Bitterness Unit) Beer is visually very attractive, it is dark brown with distinctive ruby glimmer and thick long lasting beige head. Aroma is mostly rye and caramel which composes very well with hoppy notes of citruses and wood. It is rather well balanced beer, it starts with rye sweetness and finishes with citrusy and woody bitterness. It is quite full bodied and slightly oily, which is typical for rye beers. Slot Machine is a fair beer. Everything seems to be in the right place there, therefore I rate it at 3.5/5. I will definitely come back to it one day.
