Tasting Note Sharing: Brouwerij Boon Kriek Mariage Parfait 2013 🍺

Brouwerij Boon is a reputable brewery in Lembeek, Belgium. It mainly produces geuze and kriek beer of a fairly traditional lambic variety, but using distinctly modern brewing techniques and equipment. Their beers are always rated as top 50 style beer in ratebeer.com

Kriek Mariage Parfait is an Old Style Kriek with lots wild cherries fermented together with a strong Lambic of spontaneous fermentation and aged on a oak (foudres) for 5 to 6 months.

Appearance: Creamy, fluffy, large and light-pink head. Fair head retention which was faded out very fast. Dark purple color with some reddish highlight. Good clarity.

Aroma: Moderately-strong sour character. Very strong Brett aroma with the hints of barnyard, earthy, goaty and leather. Medium woody, cherry and dried fruit aroma. No obvious unfavorable aroma was shown.

Flavor: Dominated by the cherry and Brett yeast characters. Strong cherry and some red fruit flavors blended with moderate leather, earthy and goaty Brett flavors. Medium souriness (from fruit and yeast) and light sweetness (from fruit and malt). Oak hints were shown in a medium-light level. Good balance between fruitiness and wild yeast. Finish was a good blended of tart sour and dryness with a bit of sweetness in a medium length.

Mouth-feel: Medium-light body. A bit of puckering from the souriness but not sharp (accpetable in this style). High carbonation. No obvious alcohol warmth.

Overall: Very funky, cherry and sour beer that is AWECOME for a beer geek! Good balance of the aroma and flavor which were quite consistent. A classic example of Fruit Lambic!!!

口感：氣泡感十足，中等口感，同時又將8%酒精隱藏得十分精妙
總結：如一塊充滿櫻桃乾味的皮革，精釀啤酒必然喜歡，十分平衡，經典Fruit Lambic的例子
