In my studies I have come across a historical stock quote from Aberrombie & Fitch Co. ANF dated 07-JUL-01 with a price of $40.85 per share. Looking at the overall chart going back to NOV-96, the clothing company has had many ups and downs in its share price. At this point, the stock is near the bottom. The question for investors; is now the time to buy? According to an article from Zacks Equity Research, Abercrombie has made significant progress on the companies strategy to employ cost saving efforts while offering customers more service in it's loyalty program by focusing on a direct to customer online model. " In addition, Abercrombie is aggressively expanding Hollister stores in new markets, thus enhancing the company’s overall performance." The stock has gained 48% over the last 6 months and has out preformed the industry average of 2.9% growth over the same time period. Given the historical perspective of this companies roller-coaster trends, and the fact that this stock is coming off of it's historical lows, I anticipate hearing some buzz about the company in the not so distant future. The real question is; what impact will the current state of the global economy have on the future financial trends of the fashion industry?
