Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

If we put ten guys in front of ten girls and ask them to rank them, I'm sure everyone would rank differently.
Some of us like dark hair, some blond, some like tool, old, young, no to mention that someone likes good looks while the other prefer personality over looks, this first hint. It's complicated.

What I'm trying to say is that there is no rule when it comes to the attraction between men and women. But it seems to me that we are losing a battle of showing our young one's priorities in interpersonal relationships.

I was in the city center the other day, as I walked down the street for the moment it seemed to me that every girl was similar to another. Wearing same fur coats, same curls, and all those inflated mouths - who even likes that. They all looked like as if they were a part of some Barbie trilogy. And the one thing I also noticed is that no one was smiling. Isn't the smile like the best fashion detail you can wear?!

When I was young, Barbie was the most popular doll, but not everyone would want to look anorexic like she did. Today it turns out that every girl thinks that the look is all you have. Just like Barbie. You don't have to talk, make jokes, have an opinion you just have to look pretty. Then you marry well and be happy for the rest of your life. Yeah, right.

Are we a culture obsessed with fashion and good looking?

The female body becomes a measure of our own value.
World magazines are often filled with photographs of famous women. Their photographs are retouched, professionals are looking after them all the time, but trust me, they do not look like that when they wake up in the morning. I know that because I'm old enough to know that is fake, but my daughters and their friends do not know that. They will think they're ugly when they get into puberty. Then the girls start to starve themselves to death, and the number of anorexic women is increasing. It is important to develop self-confidence in children, so I try not to give my girls (daughters) compliments just for their looks.

Women are fat, men are just big!

As for the guys and their strange fashion today, I rather not talk about that, at the moment. But they also started to be obsessed with their looks more and more. Although they are still not judged for their not so perfect look. I ran into a photography on Facebook and it turns out that men solved their problems.
I can't say that I like when a man has bigger boobies than I do, but a little belly has never hurt anyone.

Girls, what are we waiting for?

I can't wait to see a doll in the shop window looking like a real woman, woman who gave birth twice or has a big hips or to say a big bone structure :)) Just to make sure, I like to see a beautiful and well-groomed woman. We have to take care of our bodies, it's the only one we have, but we do not need to look like shop window dummies.

Another thing that is bothering me, when we talk about interest for fashion - it is also important to point out - it doesn't mean that we should have prejudices for girls who like fashion. Usually it is a common opinion that women who care about what they look like are not smart. Which is of course not true.

Judging people by their appearance is just superficial, nothing else!

Good looking women face the prejudice too, they are considered incapable. Those not so pretty are not interesting to men. But these are all superficial things, so grab deeper. The important thing is that we don't need to look the same, and obey the standards of beauty. We have a saying in Croatia: Nobody can please everybody. And just remember...
Men won't notice your imperfections, girls may, but who cares.
Smile, enjoy bed hair day and don't look like you just swallowed a pickle.
Looking good is optional. What's nice for me it doesn't have to be nice to you. Have you ever been in the situation where you meet a beautiful person and over time it turns out this person is not really a nice fellow. Suddenly the look is no longer essential.
It works the other way around, not so good looking one can become the most beautiful person in the whole world just because he is nice and friendly and funny and caring.
If looks were so important no one with good looking would ever be unhappy.
If he/she is making you laugh, if you have the same interest, same life values and enough love to face the life issues, don't ever hesitate. Few extra pound, cellulite or big nose is not going to change the way you feel about someone, only character would do that.

HI great article you have here.

Isn't the smile like the best fashion detail you can wear?!

smile is the best fahion detail we can put on. But when we are bothered, it might not be like that.

Beauty is in the eye of the viewer. For example
I like guys with big noses 😂

Me too!
Kljuka je zakon :D

hahaha srami se :D

Nikad! To svi znaju :D

It seems we are no longer a society that wears masks but became masks, idols are followed, keeping up with trends and what not... It's sad and funny how what makes human a human, is no longer acceptable. I couldn't agree more, rather be who you are than being fake pretty, or fake strong - implants for muscles, and people actually put them in their bodies, we all try to find easy way out, but hard way is the right way.

Your comments are always a great addition to my post :)) Absolutely right, easy way is not the way that makes us more human and better person - and that's the beauty that we are looking for :))

Thank you for the compliment :) Now I won't stop commenting hahaha. Yeah, may I also add, easy is boring :)

Absolutely boring :D

I totally agree with you, with everything you said. My heart hurts when see kids in early primary school worrying about their appearance, spending a great amount of time on doing their make-up etc. Nowadays, the pressure of being "perfect" is present from really early on, and I feel like kids don't have time to be kids anymore. Everyone is special and beautiful in their own way, and we should embrace it! :)

I couldn't agree more... The pressure of being perfect is all around us, and sometimes it's so hard to deal with it. We have to try and teach our children that everyone is special in their own way - thank you for your lovely conclusion! :))
