Magic Mud Mask

in #beauty6 years ago

Whenever my skin is feeling dull or I’m long overdue for a good exfoliation, I whip up this mask. The great thing about this recipe is that you likely have all of the ingredients for the face mask in your cupboard, with the exception of the bentonite clay.

If you don’t have bentonite hanging out in one of your cabinets, you should consider getting a little to make homemade face masks, but it also has many other uses. It’s great for skin care because it has a natural tendency to draw out impurities that lie within the pores. Made from volcanic ash, this healing clay is found all over the world, and is typically inexpensive.

On top of being detoxifying, bentonite clay also has anti-inflammatory properties. The silica in this helps to soften the skin, and bentonite clay is known to help with over-productive sebum secretions, if you tend to be on the oily side.

As for the other three ingredients; honey is naturally antibacterial, moisturizing, and loaded with antioxidants. Cloves are also full of antioxidants and have antimicrobial properties to kill acne causing microbes. The ground coffee in the mask is exfoliating, and extremely anti-inflammatory.

If you tend to have sensitive skin, before you try the mask, be sure to test a small fingerprint sized spot somewhere inconspicuous to see if you have a sensitivities to any of the ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons bentonite clay
  • 1 teaspoon ground clove or 5 drops clove oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground coffee
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon warm water

Place all the clay, clove, coffee, and honey in a small heat-proof bowl. Add the water and stir. Apply to face and allow to dry for about 10-15 minutes before gently removing with a warm, wet washcloth.

Bentonite Clay is heaven!

Wonderful Magic Mud Mask @pinkspectre . I really love the innovation of using the volcanic ash. You must have invested a lot of time in getting this innovation. I cannot wait to try it out. Do you know what? Volcanic soils are fertile with nutrients from the earth's crust.

Moving further to the mixture of bentonite , honey, cloves, coffee, these are all natural ingredients. I believe the mixture is toxic free; its not like some factory made beauty products whose adverts we keep watching.

However bentonite is not common here in Africa. Where can we buy genuine bentonite from and how can we verify the quality? Secondly for those who cannot afford it, is there a substitute that we can use?

developed to provide you with a clean and balanced skin. It renews the skin cells, minimizes pores and thoroughly cleans off excess of fat Also it purifies the skin calms redness and improves skin tone and texture

Excellent treatment for skin. will this end the pimples. thanks for sharing @pinkspectre
