Health & Beauty. delivery number 1: The Avocado.
Greetings friends of steemit.
Today I undertake a challenge in which I will be publishing every day a fruit, vegetable or vegetable, highlighting its properties and benefits for both health and beauty. In this way we will know more about the natural benefits that we can count on daily if we know more about the fruits, vegetables that we consume or that we see in the market and have not yet tested.
I hope you like this initiative ... you can make suggestions and propose fruits, vegetables for the next delivery.
First of all let's see the difference between a fruit, vegetable and vegetable.
The main difference lies in that the vegetables are properly the roots, stems and leaves of the plants, while the fruits are the edible fruit of the plants (they are the fertilized ovary of a plant and inside it has the seeds). Regarding the vegetables, their difference is of another scope since they are all the vegetables and legumes cultivated in orchards, and they DO NOT include fruits or cereals.
Once this point is clarified I will begin in this first installment with
Avocado is a tropical fruit rich in vitamins, minerals, fibers and antioxidants. The pulp of avocado has a sweet and fleshy flavor, has a yellow color that tends to green and is fragrant and soft. Let's discover together the properties and benefits of avocado for health and beauty!
The avocado has extraordinary nutritional properties and beneficial for the health of the human body:
It is rich in vitamins
The vitamins contained in the avocado, which include vitamin A, vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, vitamin C, vitamins D, E, K and J allow good maintenance of the elasticity and firmness of the epidermis.
Counteracts the onset of cardiovascular disease
The avocado combats the appearance of cardiovascular diseases such as stroke, atherosclerosis, cerebral ischemia and heart attack. The good content of potassium present in the avocado reduces blood pressure. It contains higher potassium content than the banana.
Prevents some forms of tumors
According to recent research conducted by the University of Ohio, it has been possible to validate the fact that avocado is able to prevent the formation of some forms of cancer, particularly cancer of the oral cavity. The presence of antioxidants helps to counteract the onset of cancer cells and the action of free radicals, in order to preserve the skin and tissues of aging and the aggression of atmospheric conditions.
Promotes digestion
The avocado promotes digestion thanks to the presence of fibers that stimulate the production of gastric juices, reduce the sensation of hunger and eliminate excess toxins, purifying the intestine.
Antioxidant
Avocado is rich in antioxidants, especially vitamins A and E, which help our body to get rid of free radicals and delay aging, keeping skin soft and supple. Among the other vitamins present in its pulp are B1, B2, B6, D, K and PP.
Reduce the cholesterol
The presence of fatty acid linoleic and Omega 3 brings benefits that reduce the level of bad LDL cholesterol in the blood and stimulate the production of good HDL cholesterol.
There are many uses of this fruit also in terms of cosmetics and body care. For example, if you have dry hair, simply crush the avocado pulp until you have a cream. Apply to damp hair for at least an hour and then rinse thoroughly.
The avocado can also be used as a moisturizing facial mask: crush the pulp of a very ripe avocado and then add two tablespoons of almond oil. Leave about half an hour and then rinse.
Finally, with the avocado pulp you can make a homemade cocoa butter: dissolve 40 g of beeswax in a bain-marie, add 25 g of honey and 50 g of avocado oil, mix well and remove everything from the fire . Keep stirring until the mixture is cold, then pour it into small jars.
Only raw meat is eaten from avocado. Cooking it would mean making it bitter and deteriorating the fatty acids of which it is rich. It is an extremely versatile fruit in the kitchen, it lends itself to numerous preparations. The most common involves the spread of your pulp on toast, perhaps with a poached egg on top. Not to mention the guacamole, a Mexican recipe that has made this fruit its star! The avocado is also very good, simply cut into small pieces to give a delicate flavor and a smooth texture to the salads. In recent times, many use their pulp as a vegetable version of mayonnaise or as a vegan substitute for butter and cream for the preparation of cakes and desserts.
