RE: Take Me to Church "Divine Mercy Monastery" - Beautiful Sunday
This is the only new church I have covered so far. I was expecting an old church but came to me as a surprise. In spite of its age it does have its own charm don't you think? Maybe after a couple of centuries it would feel ancient to the next generations. As for the stained glass, I go crazy when I see them. It pulls me in some way that is hard to explain especially in the old ones.
It definitely has its own charm! And I agree with you completely on the stained glass windows - I was lucky enough to travel to France & Germany for a couple of weeks in high school (with our theater group) and we got to visit Notre Dame. Somewhere in one of my storage boxes, I have old school 35mm photos of the rose window - I've been hooked every since.
That must have been quite an experience. I am not sure if I will be able to visit Notre Dame in my life. There are so many churches and cathedrals I would like to visit which includes Notre Dame, Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Kolner Dom in Cologne how I wish. Anyway I'd love to see those photos of the rose window in your storage box. Hope you could share with us one of these days.
It was amazing, and I am hoping to some day put together a post with photos from my trip. However, I have MANY storage boxes of photos, and it's become quite the project getting everything scanned. Crossing my fingers you can some day experience Notre Dame and all those other amazing cathedrals, @watersnake101!
