October in Saint Petersburg
October begins with burning maple trees, they flare up among the green or barely beginning to turn yellow crowns of other trees. The eyes rejoice in the bright color, and if the rains stop and the sun peeps out, you want to forget about everything and enjoy every minute of a golden autumn, so similar to summer. Chestnuts and apples fall under the feet, and the color becomes more varied and richer every day, oaks, elms and lindens join the maple trees, and one day you suddenly notice that the green is almost invisible, only the poplars, which are so few in the city, do not give up. And very soon the last leaf will leave the branch.
Less shades of green now but the autumn colours are nice.
