This is my entry for the @beautifulsunday and @sublimesundaychallenges hosted by @ace108 and @c0ff33a
Today I dedicate and share my sublime and beautiful Sunday, to "La Gran Sabana" which is inside the Canaima National Park, in the South of Venezuela, in the Bolívar State. It is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the country, and more extensive to travel. The Gran Sabana is a very sparsely populated area, there are some missions such as Kavanayen, to the south is Santa Elena de Uairen, the last town before reaching the border with Brazil.
La Gran Sabana is a park with unique characteristics. The beauty of the landscape is accentuated in the Guiana Shield, the oldest geological formation in the world and its variety of waterfalls. and large sandstone massifs that are isolated, called "tepuyes" in the language of the natives that inhabit the region.
This place offers unique landscapes throughout the world, has rivers, waterfalls and ravines, deep and extensive valleys, impenetrable jungles, and savannas that house a large number and variety of plant species, a diverse fauna.
In spite of the enormous variety of species that live in the savannah, it is not common for the visitor to find animals on the road, because the savannah predominates there and they are found in the riverside forests and jungles, in the mountains near the tepuyes.
To reach the Gran Sabana and enjoy the diverse landscapes, the ideal is to go by road from Puerto Ordaz, the paved road reaches Brazil, or a plane to Santa Elena de Uairen. To get to the most interesting places, it is advisable to go in a vehicle with 4-wheel drive.
The majority of the population is from the ethnic group of the pemones and is the largest group in the region. They are scattered throughout the Canaima National Park, many are engaged in tourist activities, manage inns and serve as guides on expeditions throughout the region. (Without photos).
For accommodation in this place there are hotels, camps and many people camp with tents, which is allowed, there I leave a sunset from a camp.
To get to the border of Brazil you have to cross the town of Santa Elena de Uairén, from there you arrive in 20 minutes and there is the place where the flags of both countries are located. If you want to cross the border and go to the town of Pacaraima to buy some souvenir or taste some typical dish of Brazilian cuisine, the only requirement to cross the border is to have the yellow fever vaccine, if you do not have it, the Brazilian authorities put the vaccine right there for free, so you can pass it. I hope you like this tour of this majestic park.
