RE: A Sunday Like Fifty Years Ago
It’s truly a quandary of the modern world, cars brining freedom to travel anywhere - but then all that happens is you end up stuck in your tin box on wheels surrounded by everyone else in tin boxes - because there are too many to go anyway. It’s crazy in the small island of the UK - because travelling any distance on a motorway will see you guaranteed to be in a jam - often just because there are too many cars.
City centres should return to being vehicle free, although many town and city centres are becoming wastelands - with more empty shops then filled - the rise of internet shopping and then the out of town shopping parks - with big car parks for easy parking.

Yes, indeed it is now. Strange is that we cannot live with them (cars) but not without them.
