My Sundays usually look like each other. A walk that ends at a show or a restaurant or a confectionery ...
I like to stay home on Sundays. My wife likes to walk. So every Sunday we walk, at least!
This Sunday's walk was one night. We are invited to the show at grandson David's school. A show before winter break. A children's show.
So we will see a small part of Bucharest at night. It's not really night, it's just darkness. It's only 6 pm. We must reach the center of the city, in the Romana Square. The easiest is to go by subway. No worries with parking.
The subway in my neighborhood is totally special. The wagons are more than forty years old. To hide the fact that they have long since expired, they have been allowed to be painted by a few graffiti artists.
Romana Square is a well-known place in Bucharest, the favorite meeting place. I got out of the subway and in a few minutes I reach the theater hall where the show takes place. Up there I can't ignore the city lights.
Entering the theater. It's a children's theater. I haven't been here since last year and I must admit it has changed for the better.
I'm late. The show started, children on stage sang, danced and had fun.
I was amazed to hear them singing Nothing Else Matters...
The show was good and long. At last Santa came too, to photograph with children and their parents. My nephew David with his bow tie!
The photo shoot was too long so we chose to go home. The children were invited to McDonald's. In the short walk to the subway I noticed an old building. I was so amazed, for decades I passed by it and now it was the first time I saw it!
Otherwise, the same lights of the city. At night it gives a different dimension to streets and buildings, the way in which they are lit attracts the eyes.
Back to the subway and then home. My pleasure and joy. It was a beautiful Sunday and for me all are sublime ... because they are still! This Sunday was for David.
I have moved out of Atlanta proper, and now live in Smyrna, about 20 miles outside the city proper.
I don't have to step over homeless people or constantly look over my shoulder now, but there isn't as much in the way of street art like there was in the old town.
I hope your nephew enjoyed your Sunday
I understand now and I think you did very well that you moved. I also live on the outskirts of the city but not so far away. I prefer peace and security instead of city lights.
The nephew was very pleased.

I must thank you!
You have some nice lights on the streets.
Yes, these lights beautify the buildings. Thanks!
