Reptile-X Expo 2018

in #beautifulsunday7 years ago (edited)

In our efforts to know more about the new pets we have, the four of us, attended last Sunday's Reptile Expo at the World Trade Center. Along with my best friend Jay R and his family, this was how our #beautifulSunday went.

Our families enjoying lunch together after 2 hours of animal watching.

We went to the church first and after the mass, JayR messaged that they were coming in a little late. No one had breakfast yet so we decided to grab a quick bite at McDonald's in Blue Bay. We were greeted with feel good signs from the parking lot.

The weather was nice enough to walk around Blue Bay. It was a little breezy and cloudy.

After an hour or so of walking around, we decided to head to World Trade Center to meet JayR who was almost there. Parking was already full so we had to park somewhere else.

It wasn't actually an expo for reptiles. It was World Gamefowl Expo and the group Reptile-X just kind of swung in with the event. The entrance fee of ₱200 ($3.92), gave us access to birds, fighting cocks, dogs and some other animal shows. There were many animals showcased. Not just gamefowls and reptiles. They had hamsters, feeders, weird looking birds, etc.,

The kids and I were overly excited with the animals. There we got to see one of the tortoise, that I always wanted to have as a pet - the Red Toe Tortoise. And, they were on sale for ₱130,000 ($2550.60)! Jonah suddenly felt sick when I asked her to buy it for me. But, you know I was just kidding!

There were snake necked turtles that looked really weird, we got grossed out that we didn't want to take pictures of it. And here's the Asian leaf turtle.

We walked around more and there were pigeons, hens, roosters, peafowls, dogs, snakes, etc.,

If I were only good at taking photos, you'd see that this is a huge hen. It was standing at above my knee level.

And here are more turtles.

Then we reached the booth for what we originally intended this trip for - arachnoids. It was unfortunate though that we came to the expo on it's last day and all the tarantulas they had on display have been sold out. Yikes.

At least, the kids learned about other animals and had fun. Now we have to rely back to google for some more tarantula information.

Any interesting Expos you have been to lately?

This is my response to @ace108’s #beautifulSunday challenge.

Thanks for reading!

I did notice the words on the parking lots before I read. Interesting.
The star-studded structure is quite unique too.

If I get to come back to that place, I'd take more pictures of this parking lot. I wanted to that time, but the kids kept complaining they were hungry.

Thanks for stopping by!

you're welcome
