I heard they have a new camera which allows only their own Canon flash to be used. That's a bummer.

That’s a bummer. I never use a flash, although I probably should ;-)
I've not use a real camera for quite a few years except the one a few years ago someone pass to me and asked me to take some pictures of the event but even that was a dummy camera.
