Secret Hippie Beach 🌀 BeachWednesday

in #beachwednesday7 years ago

Along this hidden beach of the Dead Sea, at least 12 hippies, or maybe you'd call them anarchists, live in these small huts, mostly just made from fabric. There are probably more of them, but I could barely stand the heat and had to go into the sea. In this +40 deg C and 100% humidity place, there is fresh water to be found. It comes down from the mountains all year round. (It takes more that a year for the water to percolate down from the winter rains.) It pops up above ground every now and then, ensuring the hippie's survival...

Would it only be necessity that could enable you to live in a place like this?

Wonder how a beach like that can be hidden. Looks like a nice place.

It's kinda a secret because there are no tourist hotels or stuff near by, and there is really only 1 road and bus stop. It sure is a nice place through, so long as you're properly prepared...

Well, i guess many nicest place are further from civilisations

Certainly the beautiful ones are^^

Here's my observation...

I believe that it is human government that has driven some people to such measures. There is plenty of "space" and "land" in the world, but the gangs that pretend to exercise rulership over others have pretty much made it impossible to live and thrive on the land. All of their rules and regulations and taxes constitute what appears to me to be insufferable oppression.

And so, I would say that desperate times call for desperate measures, and apparently these dozen hippies have been forced to this extreme. I am saddened.

😄😇😄

@creatr

P.S. Nice photo and comment.

Your comment reminds me to wonder what would happen if the governments (law 7 of the Noahide laws) just stuck to presiding over/concerning themselves with laws 1-6 of the Noahide laws...?

Thanks for your observations :)

Thanks for your interesting response, my friend. ;)

Writing as I am from the curious perspective of a "Christian anarchist," I would further comment that, in my opinion, God has already written the first six on the heart of man, and therefore the seventh is overreaching... I do not believe in the legitimacy of compulsion apart from self-defense.

The notion of compulsion is so rarely required if things are properly adjudicated. Besides, the 7th is G-d's command as well, given to Adam and Noach...

And I'd say it's written in our hearts too. For the right or wrong reasons, most people love government/authority.

"Besides, the 7th is G-d's command as well..."

I would appreciate a reference?

I don't wish to merely assume you refer to Genesis chapter 9? :)

Some of it refers to B'reishit 9. Derivations come from multiple places. So here is the most concise article I could quickly find on it.

Note that there is a variance of opinion on the question of force.

Thank you, friend @inphiknit, for the reference. I find it quite instructive and interesting. And yes, particularly in the variations of opinion.

The rectitude of employing coercion/compulsion in self defense is obvious to me, whether individually or in a group. However, I am inclined to believe that if one's sin does not trespass against another human, the initiation of force against the sinner is immoral:

"Vengeance and payback are mine
for the time when their foot slips;
for the day of their calamity is coming soon,
their doom is rushing upon them."

- Deuteronomy 32:35

As always, I appreciate your gracious interaction! :)

Very welcome^^ Yeah, our whole premise here is righteous courts. Which is why today (beit dinim/houses of judgement) don't go around enforcing vs sins where there is no other victim. To my understanding, there is a victim if any of the 6 laws are broken.

Thanks, I do too @creatr!
