It’s been 8 months since BCShop.io development started. Following our initial roadmap with mainnet release in May tech team did great job implementing all basic platform functions. After showing the platform to early adopters we got useful feedback and now are working on improvements. Upcoming technical updates as well as global BCShop.io development strategy are reflected in refined roadmap which we want to share in today’s post.

Q3 2018: Merchants Approval, Catalog

Following recent pricelists’ implementation, we are now testing merchant approval system. Goods and services for approved merchants will be displayed in official BCShop.io catalog. Addition of this system will help us to maintain legal compatibility when we will introduce catalog feature.

At the same time BCShop.io platform can still be used without merchants’ approval for P2P trading and services. In this case merchants’ deals are not published on the platform and it essentially serves as web interface to Ethereum blockchain smart-contracts.

Q4 2018: Escrow agents, Multilanguage Support, Referrals, Marketing Campaign Launch

Escrow agents is another key feature desired by our early adopters. Ethereum ecosystem today is a big and developing community which consists of many smaller communities usually grouped by interests: community around games built on Ethereum, ICO communities, communities of different blockchain based projects, etc. Often there are local authorities in those smaller communities (admins, project owners, etc.) which are trusted by other members. Escrow agents functionality will allow such trusted members to register as escrow on BCShop.io platform, hence, engaging other members of the community to use the platform and earning % of escrow commission of each deal where such agent is selected as an escrow. At the same time, in case of a dispute between merchant and buyer, final decision will be made by competent and reputable member.

Referrals program is a part of preparation to our marketing and promotion campaign. It will allow anyone to generate personal affiliate link and to tie it to one’s Ethereum wallet. Affiliate will get ~33% (still discussing) of commission generated by merchants who used the link.

Before marketing campaign start multilanguage support is also essential task to be implemented. Languages which will be supported for sure include: Russian, Spanish and Chineese.

As for marketing and promotion itself, we are going to enter cryptocurrency and blockchain related segment at first place, where people are already familiar with crypto wallets usage and in general know what they are doing. There is still no easy to use solution which allows people to use crypto for utility purpose with their favorite wallet access method with no software installation and registration.

2019: API, SDK, additional blockchains research and support

Our timeline for the next year is still being discussed and will be published in separate post. General focus will be additional blockchain research and support. When crypto mass adoption will be coming, we want BCShop.io platform to be the standard tool for people to use for their needs with the support of that breakthrough blockchain which will be the game changer.
