A Tiny Baby Bat!
The granddaughter of one of the shop owners in the complex I am in brought this tiny baby bat to show me yesterday. She is 6 years old so her hand is small, now you can imagine how tiny this little thing was!!! She says she is giving it milk.
I have had, um, issues with bats at my house, me being the official bat remover and all...but the baby of every species is cute.

I usually have a high "EEEW" factor for bats but you are right, there is a higher "awwww" factor for any baby....even bats.

It is!!! There is a lady looking after it now. She is feeding it cat milk and letting it sleep inside her bra!!!
I hope the baby bat survive this ordeal!
I think the bat will survive. There is another lady in the complex who rehabilitates mostly birds and releases them back to the wild, but sometimes other animals too. She is feeding it cat milk in a tiny syringe and keeping it against her skin.
I hope she washed her hands after!
The wife wanted a taxidermy bat from eBay for Christmas, so I ordered it. The picture made it look fairly substantial, and then it arrived in this padded envelope with a bit of padding, barely two inches long - hardly big enough to be a stocking stuffer.
I've had bats in the house before, so I know how small they are. I really don't know what I was expecting.
I don't think she did. She gave it to the "bird" lady at the health shop (who rehabilitates injured wild birds) to look after and she is keeping it in her bra and feeding it kitten milk in a micro syringe!!!
