Very tragic. I'm not a particular fan of basketball but even I recognise that Kobe was an absolute giant of the game. When I was living in US I watched a few games on TV and it was clear he had something special. He just seemed to drift around the others with ease, and made hard shots and plays look effortless.

He was also great ambassador for the game, and cared about giving back. His post-game journey was only just beginning, and it's a great shame. I really feel for the family, to lose not just him but his daughter as well.

As u say, it puts things in perspective, and reminds that life is precious...
