Steem Basic Income

Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content.

Upvote @steembasicinome regularly to increase the basic income that you receive

As we explained yesterday, voting weight will be adjusted upward for those that upvote @steembasicincome. We have moved the upvote time forward a few minutes, so each member's basic income will be boosted a little by paying less curation reward.

Paused Members

Each member's total voting weight is based on the shares that they own, but distributed across their weekly posts. This ensures that weekly income delivered to each share is consistent for all members, without putting pressure on members to create content every day. Since some members are quite prolific, their voting weight for each post has dropped below 0.50%. Unfortunately, the software we use cannot handle votes below 0.50%, and the most prolific members are not receiving upvotes.
We will start listing these members as 'paused' members in each membership update. They still have their shares, but they are not currently receiving any votes. Since they are so prolific, and most were sponsored by other members, nudging their weight high enough for them to receive votes would not be fair to the rest of the group. When their weight increases, either through less frequent posting, more shares, or bonus voting weight from upvoting @steembasicincome, they will start receiving upvotes again.
We think this is one reason why most voting clubs opt for daily votes instead, but there are far more members that post less than once a day than there are that post enough to be paused.

We are up to 580 shares, with 266 members and 25 paused members. If you believe your share count to be incorrect, please let us know and we will happily check it again.
